Directions To All Youth Venues
DIRECTIONS TO SHAWS LANE FIELD, Shaws Lane (off Garrison Road), Dover, NH

FROM SPAULDING TURNPIKE NORTHBOUND
Take EXIT 7 (Burger King). At the bottom of the exit turn LEFT onto Route 108 SOUTH and go under the highway and about 400 yards and turn LEFT onto Back River Road (Store 24 on corner). Go 1.0 mile and take the 3rd LEFT onto Garrison Road. Go 200 yards and turn LEFT onto Shaws Lane. The entrance to Shaws Lane Field will be on the left about 100 yards down (dirt road next to small cemetery). If you come to elementary school you have gone too far.

FROM THE SPAULDING TURNPIKE SOUTHBOUND

FROM ROUTE 4 EASTBOUND
Take Route 4 east to the Route 108 exit. At the bottom of the ramp turn LEFT onto Route 108 NORTH. Go about 3.3 miles and turn RIGHT onto Back River Road (Store 24 on corner). Go 1.0 mile and take the 3rd LEFT onto Garrison Road. Go 200 yards and turn LEFT onto Shaws Lane. The entrance to Shaws Lane Field will be on the left about 100 yards down (dirt road next to small cemetery). If you come to elementary school you have gone too far.


FROM ROUTE 101 EASTBOUND
Take EXIT 7, Route 125 and turn left onto Route 125 NORTH. Go about 10 miles to the Lee traffic circle. Go 1/4 of the way around the traffic circle onto Route 4 EAST. Go about 5.5 miles and take the Route 108 exit. At the bottom of the ramp turn LEFT onto Route 108 NORTH. Go about 3.3 miles and just past the blinking yellow light at the fire station turn RIGHT onto Back River Road (Store 24 on corner). Go 1.0 mile and take the 3rd LEFT onto Garrison Road. Go 200 yards and turn LEFT onto Shaws Lane. The entrance to Shaws Lane Field will be on the left about 100 yards down (dirt road next to small cemetery). If you come to elementary school you have gone too far.



DIRECTIONS TO THE YORK SPORTS CENTER, 1050 US Route One, York ME, (207) 363-0490:

(Travel is about 20 minutes form the Portsmouth Traffic Circle)

From the North:
Follow the Maine Turnpike South to the York Tollbooth. Go through the tollbooth ($1.50) and take the York/Ogunquit Exit (Exit 1) immediately AFTER the toll. At the top of the ramp, take a LEFT. Follow the Spur Road to the lights and take a LEFT onto Route One North. Follow Route One North for approximately 2.25 miles to the York Sports Center. The facility is located on the left directly after the Methodist Church. You will see the large white dome and the entrance is right after that.

From the South:
Follow I95 North to Maine. Take the York/Ogunquit Exit (Exit 4) directly BEFORE the tollbooth. Bear RIGHT at the end of the ramp and follow the Spur Road to the lights. Take a LEFT at the lights onto Route One North. Follow Route One North for approximately 2½ miles to the York Sports Center. The facility is located on the left directly after the Methodist Church. You will see the large white dome and the entrance is right after that.

From Dover:
Go up Portland Avenue, past the Dover Arena (on your left) and Philbrick’s (on your right) and turn RIGHT at the light onto Oak Street. Go almost half a mile to the stop sign and turn LEFT onto Gulf Road (which later becomes Eliot bridge Road and then Maine Route 101). Go about 3.1 miles, across the bridge into Maine, to the intersection with Route 236. Go STRAIGHT across 236 staying on Route 101. Go about 4.5 miles and turn LEFT onto Beech Ridge Road. This is a few hundred yards past the Kubota tractor dealer (on your right). Look for a small sign on the right that points to York as a left turn. Go about 3.2 miles on Beech Ridge Road and you will come to an intersection with Route 1, turn LEFT onto Route 1 NORTH. Go about 2.2 miles and you will pass the off ramp from I-95 entering from your left. Go approximately 2.5 miles to the York Sports Center. The facility is located on the left directly after the Methodist Church. You will see the large white dome and the entrance is right after that.



DIRECTIONS TO PHILLIPS EXETER ACADEMY - THOMPSON CAGE, Gilman Street (off Court Street), Exeter, NH (hard packed dirt surface):

From the North: I-95 SOUTH. Take EXIT 2 in New Hampshire just before Hampton tollgate. Go WEST on Route 101 (formerly 51). Take EXIT 11 (Route 108) and turn LEFT at the bottom onto Route 108 SOUTH (Portsmouth Avenue). Go about 1.5 miles to the end and an intersection with a traffic light where you have to turn (Routes 27/111/108), turn RIGHT, staying on 108. Go about 1/2 mile to the Bandstand and turn LEFT around it onto Front Street, again staying on 108. Go about 100 yards and bear LEFT onto Court Street, still following 108. Go about 3/4 mile and turn LEFT onto Gilman Street just before the Phillips Exeter athletic building. The Cage is the old brick building past the new athletic facility. Note parking & entry directions below.

From the South: I-95 NORTH. Take EXIT 1 in NH (Route 107). Turn LEFT on Route 107 to Route 150 NORTH. Turn RIGHT onto Route 150 which joins Route 108 (Court Street) to Exeter. Once you get on 108 go about 1.6 miles and you will see the Phillips Exeter athletic facility on your RIGHT. Turn RIGHT onto Gilman Street after the building. The Cage is the old brick building past the new athletic facility. Note parking & entry directions below.

From the West (Manchester, Keene, NH)
Route 101 east to EXIT 11 (Route 108) and turn RIGHT onto Route 108 SOUTH (Portsmouth Avenue). Follow directions above.

PARKING & ENTRY AT THOMPSON CAGE:
Best to near the fence on the left. STAY OUT of the courtyard between Thompson Cage and the main athletic building. Mind the parking restrictions. Enter through the sliding doors in the middle of the building (WATCH OUT for runners as you enter right onto a track).



DIRECTIONS TO WALLIS SANDS STATE BEACH, Route 1A, Rye, NH:

Note: It is about 1 mile south of Odiorne Point State Park. FYI, route 1A is the road that runs along the water from Hampton north to Portsmouth.

From the North:
Go to the Portsmouth Traffic Circle take the Route 1 By Pass SOUTH (toward Margarita’s). The By-Pass merges onto Route 1 south after 1.25 miles, stay on Route 1 south for another .75 miles (2 miles total from Circle) and turn LEFT at the light onto Elwyn Road (former Yoken’s on right, gas station to your left). Follow this road less than a mile to a stop sign at a 4-way intersection (blinking light). Go STRAIGHT thru the intersection, you are now on Route 1A south. Go about 0.7 mile along the winding road and turn RIGHT onto Brackett Road. Go about 0.7 mile and bear left staying on the main road, which is now Parsons Road. Follow to the stop sign at end and Wallis Sands State Beach will be right in front of you. Take a RIGHT and then turn LEFT into the parking lot.


From the South:
Take I-95 NORTH to EXIT 3 in NH. Turn RIGHT at the top of the exit. Go 0.9 mile to a light (after the cemetery) and turn RIGHT onto Peverly Hill Road. Go 1 mile to the 2nd light at the intersection with Route 1. Go STRAIGHT across Route 1 (gas station on right) onto Elwyn Road. Follow this road less than a mile to a stop sign at a 4-way intersection (blinking light). Go STRAIGHT thru the intersection, you are now on Route 1A south. Go about 0.7 mile along the winding road and turn RIGHT onto Brackett Road. Go about 0.7 mile and bear left staying on the main road, which is now Parsons Road. Follow to the stop sign at end and Wallis Sands State Beach will be right in front of you. Take a RIGHT and then turn LEFT into the parking lot.



DIRECTIONS TO GRANITE FIELDS, 7 Route 125, Kingston, NH, (603) 642-9977:

Note: Synthetic turf surface, cleats OK
Note: A sign is situated at the foot of the driveway. The complex is located at the top of the hill. Parking is in front of the building.

From I-495:
Take exit 51B heading North on Route 125 towards Plaistow, NH, the facility is 5 miles ahead on the right.

From Route 101:
Take EXIT 7, Route 125 in Epping. Head south and the facility is located approximately 13 miles down on the left.



DIRECTIONS TO COMMUNITY CAMPUS, 100 Campus Drive (off West Road), Portsmouth, NH:

From the NORTH:
Take I-95 SOUTH to EXIT 3A in New Hampshire. The exit is just south of the Portsmouth Traffic Circle exit and the Spaulding Turnpike onramp. Turn RIGHT at the end of the off ramp onto NH Route 33 EAST. Go STRAIGHT through the 1st light, back over I-95, and STRAIGHT through the 2nd light. Drive 0.9 mile to a light (past the cemetery on right) and turn RIGHT onto Peverly Hill Road. Drive 0.6 mile to the first traffic light and go STRAIGHT through. Follow FROM PEVERLY HILL ROAD LIGHT directions below.

From the SOUTH:
Take I-95 NORTH to EXIT 3 in New Hampshire. The exit is about 7 miles north of the Hampton toll booth. Turn RIGHT at the end of the off ramp onto NH Route 33 EAST. Go STRAIGHT through the 1st light. Drive 0.9 mile to a light (past the cemetery on right) and turn RIGHT onto Peverly Hill Road. Drive 0.6 mile to the first traffic light and go STRAIGHT through. Follow FROM PEVERLY HILL ROAD LIGHT directions below.

From the WEST/NORTHWEST:
Take NH Route 16 SOUTH or US Route 4 EAST and that will put you on the Spaulding Turnpike going EAST toward Portsmouth. Go to the Portsmouth Traffic Circle and go STRAIGHT through (1/2 way around) onto the Route 1 Bypass SOUTH. Go to the 3rd light, about 1.1 miles, and turn RIGHT onto Greenleaf Avenue. Go 0.5 mile to the stop sign at the end and turn LEFT onto Peverly Hill Road. Go 0.3 miles to the first traffic light and go STRAIGHT through. Follow FROM PEVERLY HILL ROAD LIGHT directions below.


FROM PEVERLY HILL ROAD LIGHT: Drive 0.3 mile past light and turn RIGHT onto West Road (no light or stop sign, if you get to the intersection with Route 1 then you have gone about 75 yards too far and you can take 2 rights and a left to get back on West Road in the right direction). Drive to the stop sign at the end of West Road (past the sharp S-curve) and turn RIGHT onto Campus Drive. You are now heading into Community Campus. This is a youth and elder facility so please DRIVE SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY.

INDOORS AT COMMUNITY CAMPUS: There is a small traffic circle (roundabout) with a traffic island in the middle of it at the entrance; go halfway around the rotary and STRAIGHT in the same direction that you were traveling. This leads you into the Community Campus. Drive a few yards and you will see the building and parking lot on the left, turn into the lot and park there.

One of the front doors will be open. Enter and walk straight back into the gym.

INDOORS AT COMMUNITY CAMPUS: There is a small traffic circle (roundabout) with a traffic island in the middle of it at the entrance; go right, 1/4 of the way around the island and you will see a gravel road off to the right with a large swinging metal gate. If the gate is open then proceed down that road and through the gate in the chain link fence at the end. After passing through the gate take an immediate LEFT. Follow the road about 100 yards until there is a dirt embankment in front of you and then turn LEFT into the woods. Pass through the swinging wooden gate (BEWARE! it is narrow and there metal bracket protruding from the post on the right) and follow the road. Bear RIGHT at the intersection and you will come into the gravel parking lot and the field is right next to it.

IF EITHER GATE IS NOT OPEN then go back to the traffic circle and continue around 1/4 revolution into the Community Campus. Stay on the road, DO NOT enter the parking lot on the left. The road winds down to the rear of the building and there is parking on the left, along the building, or in the lot beyond. Park there (you won't see the field but do not worry). On the right, across from the corner of the building, you will see a trail into the woods. Walk down that trail and follow the fitness trail signs (bear left at the fork). It should take 2 to 3 minutes to walk to the field.



DIRECTIONS TO SANDERSON’S FIELD, 33 Hobbs Road, North Hampton, NH (it is right off Route 1 about 1/2 mile west on Route 111):

ATTENTION: THERE ARE LIMITED PARKING SPACES AT THE FIELD. PLEASE MIND THE NO PARKING SIGNS. MOST SHOULD PARK IN THE PARKING LOT IN BACK OF THE CHURCH DOWN THE STREET AND WALK UP TO THE FIELD. ONCE THAT IS FULL PLEASE PARK AT THE SHOPPING CENTER ON ROUTE 1 AND SHUTTLE TO THE FIELD. Do NOT block anyone’s mail box or driveway. Do NOT park within 50 feet of an intersection.

From Portsmouth: Get on Route 1 SOUTH and go about 6 miles and look for Callahan Motors (BMW’s) on the right. About 500 yards past Callahan Motors turn RIGHT onto Hobbs Road (note: do not make a U-turn onto Elm Road, if you come to the traffic light at the junction of Route 111 then you have gone about 3/8 of a mile too far). Go about 1/2 mile staying on Hobbs Road, past New Road, and the field is on the RIGHT behind a line of trees.

From the north: From I-95 southbound take EXIT 3B and turn LEFT at the light onto Route 33 WEST. Go about 0.9 mile to the 2nd traffic light and turn LEFT onto Ocean Road at the corner where the big truck stop is. Go straight for about 1.9 miles to the light at the intersection of Route 1 and turn RIGHT onto Route 1 SOUTH. Go about 3.5 miles and look for Callahan Motors on the right. Follow the rest of the directions directly above.

From the south: Take I-95 North to EXIT 2 (in NH) and go WEST on 101. Take 101 WEST about 1 mile to EXIT 12, Route 111. At the bottom of the ramp turn RIGHT onto Route 101D towards North Hampton. Go about 2 miles and you will cross over I-95. Go about 600 yards more to a stop sign and Go STRAIGHT. Go up the hill and the field is about 200 yards down on the LEFT behind a line of trees.

From Manchester: Take 101 EAST to EXIT 12, Route 111 and follow rest of the directions directly above.

From Exeter: Take Route 111 (North Hampton Road) and go past the onramps for 101. Follow the rest of the “From the South” directions above.

From Durham and Newmarket: Take Route 108 SOUTH through Newfields to the traffic circle at the intersection with Route 33 in Stratham. Stay on 108/33 south toward Exeter. About 1/2 mile from the traffic circle you will pass Hodgies Ice Cream on the right, go about 200 yards further and turn LEFT onto Bunker Hill Avenue. If you go past the BMW dealership on the right then you have gone too far. Go for about 2 miles, past Union Road, at Fifield Avenue bear RIGHT, at Heights Road bear LEFT onto Lovering Road, Go about 1/2 mile and bear RIGHT onto Walnut Avenue. Go to the end of Walnut and turn right onto Post Road and go about 300 yards to the center of town (bandstand) and turn LEFT onto Hobbs Road. The field is about 200 yards down on the LEFT behind a line of trees.

To Find Additional Parking: Go past the field on your right and the church is 200 yards down on your right. If that is full go LEFT out of the church parking lot and bear right onto Route 111 (Atlantic Avenue). Go about 1/2 mile to the intersection with Route 1. Park in the parking lot for the shopping center across Route 1 and on your right. You should organize someone to shuttle you back to the field before you go to the shopping center.
