Club Mission
The mission of the Seacoast Rugby Club is to foster national and international sports competition and to support and develop amateur athletes for national and international sports competition.
Club History
Established in the spring of 1998 by a group of young women who were students at the University of New Hampshire, the Seacoast Rugby Club was the result of motivation, perseverance and a love for the game of rugby. In June of that year, the women of Seacoast Rugby welcomed a men’s 7’s team, which then expanded into a full men’s side
in August. In the fall of 1998, both the men’s and women’s teams played in their first league season in the New England Rugby Football Union (NERFU), a subdivision of the United States of America Rugby Football Union (USA Rugby).
A youth program, featuring under-19 boys’ and girls’ teams, was added in the spring of 1999.
Rounding out the Seacoast Rugby roster
of teams is a recreational “old boys”
(over 35) team that was established in
2000. Our teams and players continue to
play in USA Rugby-competitions. |
